THE ONE SOLUTION TO SEEKING THE BEST PET FOOD YOU WILL NEVER FIND

In truth, there is no one dietary solution to pet feeding - no one "complete" diet that will provide your pet with optimal health for the duration of his/her lifetime.

Over the decades I have often been contacted by pet owners who are experiencing the dismal results of "complete and balanced" premium foods and want a better answer. But then they review our educational materials or website and feel overwhelmed and confused. They want A food that will solve their problems. You know, like pet food marketers by the hundreds all claim to have, or like people expect a doctor to prescribe a pill that will just fix it all.

We try to explain that it is not so simple. But neither is it complicated.

Let's reflect on our own eating practices. How difficult do we find it to eat a variety of foods on a daily basis? Is it a burden to eat something different at lunch than at breakfast, or for supper than at lunch? Do we consult a nutritionist, doctor, call Kraft, Oscar Meyer, or General Mills to figure out what to eat, when, and in what quantity?

More than likely you do no such thing. Rather, you intuitively know that natural foods and supplements promote health, and you understand what foods have little nutritional merit - in essence, you try to maximize the good nutritious foods and minimize the bad.

Our companion animals need us to do the same for them. So the best pet food means rotating healthy companion animal diets, and augmenting their meals with whole natural foods such as raw meats, bones, eggs, nuts, vegetables, dairy, and properly designed supplements. It's not rocket science and it's not hard. It is, however, the kind and right thing to do.
