MAKE YOUR OWN BEST PET FOOD

In spite of all the efforts (mostly commercial, not health) by pet food companies, no product designed to be in a package for a year or more can match the nutritional merit of a simple at home fresh recipe. Some clean raw meat, organs, bones, fruit, and vegetables know no match in any pet food package. (An exception would be addressing a specific health problem with nutraceutically designed products.)

However, the reality is that modern pet feeding is more about convenience than anything else. Most of us lead busy lives that make it difficult to even prepare dinners for ourselves, let alone the dog and cat. A "complete" food out of an easy-open package is just too tempting.

Nevertheless, at least try to work in some home prepared foods for your pet. Rotated or combined with that, quality packaged foods and supplements from a company that puts health and competence to create it, first, get you very close to the best pet food.
